Restricting Ground Rents on Existing Leases – Have Your Say!

The Government has set up a public consultation to seek views on limiting the level of ground rent that leaseholders can be required to pay in England and Wales. This gives leaseholders a chance to put their views forward on issues that they have relating to ground rents in their leases.
In the recent King’s Speech, it was announced that this Government would tackle unfair practices that have blighted many leasehold property owners. This is a step forward, although the outcome of the legislation is not yet known and no date for it’s introduction has been set.
This consultation will last for 6 weeks from 9 November 2023.
