Emma joined the Corporate and Commercial team as a Paralegal in July 2022. She assists on various matters within the team, including mergers and acquisitions (acting for both buyers and sellers), company formations, company restructures, drafting of commercial agreements, NDA's and ancillary documentation and carrying out legal research. She works closely with other departments to ensure any transaction runs smoothly and the right expertise is used throughout.

She therefore has an understanding of the litigation process. Previously, she also worked in-house for a large defence company, dealing with corporate and commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, the drafting of NDA's, anti-bribery and corruption and GDPR issues both in the UK and internationally.

Emma's LinkedIn tag line is 'Making your business my business'

  • She is efficient and explain things in a way clients can understand, identifying risks and solutions.
  • She thinks outside the box and ensures she creates healthy relationships with clients so they can approach her. Or, as Kelly from WOW would say, 'I explain things, state facts with no bullsh!t and am just normal and easy to talk to'.
  • She takes time to understand the task at hand, what is required and the best way to progress a matter, whilst trying to save clients time and money.

What Emma says

"It is good to be able to see a goal and helping people/companies achieve that goal, whilst taking the additional stress away in relation to it."

Outside of work, Emma enjoys travelling, with a love of visiting Turkey. She also enjoys watching live sports, in particular football with her father and her favourite thing to do is create new memories with her young family. As a type 1 diabetic herself, Emma also gets involved with raising money for Breakthrough T1D (formally JDRF UK) - their ultimate aim is to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.
