Re-Mortgaging

Re-mortgaging is when you change your mortgage without moving home. It is the process of changing your mortgage for a better rate, or to release some of the equity in your home, or to consolidate your debts. Getting a remortgage involves ending your current mortgage scheme and moving to a new one. This may involve switching lenders because some lenders will not offer a remortgage scheme to existing customers.

Re-mortgaging is a common tactic used to manage mortgage costs. You should consult an IFA to obtain information to assist you in finding the best mortgage package to suit your needs. We can recommend an IFA if you need help.

Re-mortgaging involves legal work to secure the interest of your new lender and usually to discharge any existing security. It is therefore prudent to have a solicitor to help you through this process. At Clarke & Son Solicitors, we sometimes have to carry out full searches against the property although some lenders are happy for indemnity insurance to be put in place, which saves on costs.

If your property is leasehold, up-to-date information in relation to service charges and insurance has to be obtained.

Our conveyancing team and solicitors are ready to assist you with a re-mortgage. Please contact Jenny Axe for re-mortgages

I must say I have been very impressed with the speed and efficiency of your service, it makes a refreshing change from my past re-mortgage experiences.

Just the other day someone in our office was looking for a solicitor so I was happy to pass on the details of Clarke and Son.
